Washington County Substance Abuse Council Grant

Funds per Category: Maximum award would be between $5,000 to $10,000

Purpose of Grants: A request for funding should fall into one of the following categories:

•    Prevention/Education:  education/awareness activities, skill-development, alternative programming, social policy and environmental change  
•    Intervention/Treatment:  services for those who are identified as in need of recovery such as identification, intervention, referral/assessment, treatment      
•    Justice/Law Enforcement:  activities to deal with the legal consequences of substance abuse, special patrols/initiatives (overtime), law enforcement at school or school event (prom), drug interdiction, officer trainings, drug courts, new equipment, resources to support law enforcement in their effort to reduce substance abuse  

Previous Projects funded by Grant:

•    Prevention/Education:  After Prom, Scholarships for YMCA programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Delaney Paddle Club, EW Leadership Project
•    Intervention/Treatment:  Youth First Online Directory, Hoosier Hills PACT for Substance Abuse in Support Group, Lifeline to send people to Teen Challenge for Residential Treatment
•    Justice/Law Enforcement:  New Equipment for Field Sobriety Tests, Computers for Patrol Cars, Training of Canine Officers

Deadline: November 3 at 4:00pm (applications can be turned in before hand or during the meeting of the council at the Government Building).
